President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono officiated the operation of Siak Tengku Agung Sultanah Latifah Bridge at Siak district in Riau province on 2007.
Designed by an expert team from Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) in 2001, the 1,196-meter long and 16,95-meter wide Siak Tengku Agung Sultanah Latifah bridge was built with "cable stayed" system and modern construction.
The bridge also has 2.25-meter pavements along its both sides.
Meanwhile, Siak district head Arwin AS said on the occasion that the official operation of the bridge would open the isolation of the district with its neighboring areas.
